Robert Arthur Cushing

Robert Arthur Cushing, 82, of Mobile, AL was welcomed to the Kingdom of Heaven on November 27, 2020. He was born in Adams, New York on September 5, 1938. He served in the U.S Coast Guard for 30 years from September 1956 until his retirement on October 1986 earning the rank of Chief Warrant Officer-4. He served in Vietnam and received many medals, honors & citations.

He was married to his wife Barbara A. Pelcak on June 20, 1959; they were married 61 years. After retiring he worked at USA Knollwood Hospital in hospital maintenance. He was a member of the Mobile Road Runners Camping Club. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, reading, camping and working in his workshop.

He was preceded in death by his parents Art & Ruby Cushing. He is survived by this loving wife Barbara, daughter Elizabeth McNichol (Myles), daughter Kelly Cushing, sister Bonnie Ketchum (Ed), sister Sue Clarke, two grandchildren, Matthew Bartha (Hannah), Cory Bartha, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 5pm – 8pm on December 2, 2020 at Radney Funeral Homes. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on December 3, 2020 at Radney Funeral Homes, burial to follow with full military honors at 12:30pm at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Disabled American Veterans in his name.
