Robert Donald Erhardt, always known as "Bobby", age 89, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018. A native Mobilian, he graduated from Murphy High School. A gifted athlete, he attended Spring Hill College on a Baseball Scholarship. He served the nation in combat during the Korean War in 1952/53 with the U.S. Army's 45th Infantry Division. Mr. Erhardt was a life long Member of Grace and Holy Cross Lutheran Churches. He worked as a Draftsman for the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad for many years. Thereafter, he was a plant supervisor at National Gypson Company/Armstrong World Industries, Inc in Mobile. A true Southern Gentleman, he was widely liked for his dignity, kindness and wonderful sense of humor. He was married for 64-years to the late Elizabeth (Mooneyham) Erhardt. He was also preceded in death by his son David George Erhardt. Survived by his eldest son Robert Donald Erhardt, Jr.of Mobile. Visitation will be at Pine Crest Cemetery on Monday, January 15th from 10 to 11 am, with Services at 11 am. Internment will follow thereafter. In lieu of flowers, it is asked that donations be sent to Grace Lutheran Church.
