Robert Edward Wojohn Sr.

Wojohn, Robert Edward “Bobby” – A native and a long-time resident of Mobile for 93 years, died Saturday, July 25, 2015. A graduate of Rutgers University School of Finance, he worked for over 50 years at Merchants National Bank, now Regions Bank, where he was Senior Vice President of Investments. Mr. Wojohn served in the United States Navy and was active, civically. Among his many philanthropic contributions was his service through the Mobile Civitan Club and Volunteers of America, where he was a member and chariman of the Board of Directors. He was a founding member of the Board of Trustees for Mobile College, now the University of Mobile, and remained so until his death. As a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and then Government Street Baptist Church he was a Deacon and taught adult Sunday school. He was married to Willie Pearl Becton, now deceased, for 68 years. He is survived by his sister, Thelma W. Comer of Mobile; his daughter, Jean W. Pride of Viera, FL and Atlanta, GA; his son, Rev. Robert E. Wojohn, Jr. and his wife Christy of Zachary, LA.; his three granddaughters, Julia Califf Schuh (Viera, FL) Corrie Wojohn Berry (Nashville, TN) Anna Caroline Wojohn Royal (Philadelphia, PA); his three grandsons, William Hunter Wojohn (Richmond, VA) Robert Elijah Wojohn (Okinawa, Japan) and Luke Mills Wojohn (Zachary, LA) and one great-granddaughter, Sophie Amelia Schuh (Viera, FL.) Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM until the service begins at 11:00AM.
