Ronald O’Neal Clackler, 82, of Silverhill passed peacefully on June 7, 2025, while surrounded by family and devoted friends. Ron was born in Mobile, Alabama, and grew up in the Chickasaw area. He attended Vigor High School and was known by his 1961 classmates as a mean football player. Prior to retirement, Ron owned and operated Rebel Line, a small hotshot trucking company. An avid hunter, Ron loved spending time at his camp and sharing stories of his time in the woods.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Everett O’Neal Clackler and Vera Golden Clackler Buettner; sister, Madeline Clackler Farmer Jernigan; his first wife and the mother of his four daughters, Linda Dowdle Clackler Oliver; son-in-law, Danny Cook; grandson, Taylor Cook and a granddaughter, Brittan Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Clackler; step daughters, Kay Saxon (Gary) and Sandi Terry; daughters, Lynne Cook, Robyn Warren (Robert), Stacia Cox (Marc), and Brittany Ellis; step-sons, Mike Turner and Mark Turner (Rebecca); grandchildren, Stacia Haedge (Zach), Lindsey Mooring (Brandon), Bryson Cox (Erika), Caleb Cook, Blake Cox (Shelbie), Brooklyn Cox, Colby Ellis, Cameron Ellis and Julia Ellis; great grandchildren, Presley Allison, Paisley Allison, Braylin Mooring, Chance Wright, Jenson Mooring, River Haedge, Bryson Ellis and Bailey Ellis.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, AL. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM in Rock Holiness Cemetery, Flomaton, AL.
