Rose "Sherry" Sherrod McCraw Sims, age 77, of Spanish Fort, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Sherry was born February 18, 1942 in Jackson, Mississippi to Mary Virginia Wells McCraw and Louis Henry McCraw.
Sherry is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert W. Sims; three children, Virginia Louise Sims, Dr. Robert Harrison Sims (Fabiola Garcia), and Beverly Rose Shoemaker; brother, Louis Henry McCraw, Jr.; two grandchildren, Christopher O'Neal (Niki) Sims and Anne Rose (Ethan) Hodge; a great-grandchild, Khail Carter Bing; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Henry McCraw and Mary Virginia Wells McCraw; brother, Harrison Wells McCraw; and son-in-law, Eddy Shoemaker.
Sherry and her husband, Bob, served as Southern Baptist missionaries in Ghana, West Africa for 26 years.
A visitation for Sherry will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Fulton Road Baptist Church, 1800 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, Alabama 36605. Interment will follow at Flomaton Cemetery, 1000 US Highway 31, Flomaton, Alabama 36571.
