He was born on July 8, 1957, in Mobile, Alabama to Ross D. and Barbara Ann Hunt.
Rusty was known for his “one-liners” and making people laugh. He loved hunting, fishing, baseball, football, golf, listening to music and playing his guitars. He was the proud owner of Hunt’s Painting Company, for many years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross D. and Barbara Hunt, his son, Brian Hunt, his sister, Pati Rogers and his brother, Danny Hunt. He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Jenny” Hunt, his sister Debra (Kim) Hunt, his aunt, Marie (Pruitt) Woodall, his uncle, Gene (Mary Beth) Bolte, his nephews, Trey, Hunter and Garrett Wyatt and Christopher(Kelsey) Miller, his niece, Elizabeth (Michael) Burge, his godson, John Paul (Hayley) Manning, Mia (Troy) Carter and other nieces, nephews, cousins and many great and wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026. A reception will be held following the service at the church.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Cunningham, Dean Moore, Greg Manning, Bob Loftin, Wayne Jordan, Zeddie Armstrong, Paul Spann, Phillip Spann, Frank Spann and Larry Pursley.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Tunnels to Towers.
