Russell Andrew Peake

Mr. Russell Andrew Peake, age 62, longtime resident of Mobile, Al, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard C. Peake and maternal and paternal grandparents. Andy will be remembered for his love of golf. As an avid golfer, he played any time he could until an accident confined him to a wheelchair. Even then, he continued to organize his golf tournaments celebrating his birthday and Thanksgiving. He was a master Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble player, often challenging his brother Casey. He spent many hours restoring and repairing golf clubs as a hobby. Andy will be remembered by his nieces and nephews as a loving uncle and friend. He is survived by his mother, Sue P. Peake, and siblings, Pam Peake Friedlander (Donnie), John Casey Peake, Jenny Peake Stephens (Bob) and Jeff Peake. He is survived by uncles, H. G. “Buddy” Peake, Jr. (Gayle) and Carl Phifer (Margaret). He also leaves to cherish his memory, nieces and nephews, Jonathan Friedlander, Kathryn Friedlander Trawick (Mat), Nicole Friedlander Watkins (Jason), Shaelyn Peake Patterson (Chip), Dana Friedlander Batoff (Evan) ; great-niece, Shaylee Patterson and great-nephews, Will Trawick, Nicholas and Brett Batoff. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest West Cemetery, Snow Rd., Mobile.
