

Ruth Tuggle Crowl – went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the age of 99. Ruth was born on January 26, 1912, in Morocco, IN. She lived for many years in Danville, IL. While there, she was actively involved in church activities as well as local theater groups. She was secretary to the Superintendent of Public Schools. It was in Danville that she met her husband, Kenneth Crowl. His career brought them to Pensacola, FL. They lived there happily for 8 years and then made the move to Mobile. Ruth was a resident of Mobile for 50 years. She began a new career as a piano teacher, teaching many children how to play the piano from her home. She retired at the age of 90. Ruth was also very active at Forest Hill United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, sang in the adult choir, and played the piano for the children’s choir. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Orie and Carrie Tuggle; brother, Merrill Tuggle; and her beloved husband of 42 years, Kenneth L. Crowl. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Betsy Keller (Don); two beautiful granddaughters, Amy and Emily Keller; three nephews, Tom, Geroge, and Jim Tuggle; niece, Sally Tuggle Janikowski; as well as many member of the Keller extended family. Ruth was a beautiful, talented, and dignified lady, a wonderful wife and mother, and a lover of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Graveside services will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 10 a.m. The family will then receive friends at Forest Hill United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. until a 2 p.m. memorial service.
