

Bixler, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Mobile Al. the third child to Norvelle Leigh Vaughan Sr and Susan B Vaughan.
She was a well-known student at Murphy High School and a graduate of Gulf Coast Academy. After which she attended the University of West Alabama, studying early childhood development.
Bixler would return to Mobile to work at a daycare until ultimately going to work for the state where she managed retail operations.
A dedicated animal lover who rescued many cats and dogs, she found great joy in learning their personalities and giving them unique names to match. She was an avid collector of coffee mugs the bigger the better. Bixler also enjoyed hosting friends at the house her grandfather, Emanuel H. Bixler built on Cotton Bayou in Orange Beach Al. She also enjoyed boating, crafting, and Mardi Gras.
Bixler is preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents as well as her oldest brother Norvelle Leigh Vaughan Jr. and beloved mother Susan B. Vaughan. She is survived by her father Norvelle Leigh Vaughan Sr, her brother Harris Cassidy Vaughan and sister-in-law Heather Vaughan. Three nieces Ashlynn Adelle and Lena Leigh Vaughan and Aoife Hand. As well as her in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hand. Bixler was also an adopted aunt to many, many more nieces and nephews, who will carry her in their hearts forever.
Bixler was a beautiful, bright and big-hearted ray of sunshine who touched so many lives in so many ways, and who will continue to be truly loved and treasured forever.
Bixler will be deeply missed by her beloved husband J. Scott Hand.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a Memorial Service immediately following at 2:00 p.m.
