Stanley James Thurston, Jr., age 66, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 following a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Em McClure Thurston. Mr. Thurston is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Anne Cameron Thurston, father, Stanley James Thurston, Sr., sisters, Mary Anne Brown (Lawrence Howard Brown, Sr.) and Emily Thurston Mouron. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Antoinette Harwell Cameron, sister-in-law, Sheryl Lueders of Huntsville, nieces and nephews Elizabeth Coats Brown (Ken), Lawrence Howard Brown, Jr., Mary Katherine Brown Martin (Peter), Emily Anne Foster (James), Brett Marc Thurston (Jessica) and great-nieces and nephews whom he adored as well as other special family and friends. Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity or foundation of your choice.
