Teresa Lynn (Pruitt) Knowles – age 63 and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Teresa was born on July 14, 1959, in Gadsden, AL to Lamar and Glenda Pruitt. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1977 and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in 1981. After graduating, Teresa worked as a nurse in the NICU at USA Medical Center for 10 years. She then switched careers to follow her passion as an educator and taught in the Mobile County Public School System for 18 years. She shared her love of knowledge at Hillsdale Middle School, Theodore Middle School (now Hankins), and Baker High School before retiring from the Mobile County system. She then continued her passion as a teacher at East Central High School in Moss Point, MS where she continued to work. Teresa deeply cared for her NICU babies and loved all her students as her own. Teresa enjoyed many different hobbies, but she especially loved scrapbooking memories of her friends and family, going on boat rides to watch dolphins, taking trips to Walt Disney World, and spending time with her family in her “Happy Place” at Wolf Bay. The family finds comfort in knowing that Teresa is resting in her Heavenly Home. Teresa was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Ruby Knowles. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Edwin Knowles; son, Jacob Knowles (Cassidy); father, Lamar Pruitt; mother, Glenda Pruitt; brother, Keith Pruitt (Joy); father-in-law, Jack Knowles; and many friends, family, and former students. Pallbearers are Bill Glover, Brian Knight, Paul Agnew, Keith Pruitt, Taylor Gatwood, and Danny Hutchins. A visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile, AL on Friday, November 4 at 5:00 PM. to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Radney Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Benbow officiating. The burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Cemetery in Brewton, AL.
