

Mr. Kelly was a 1940 graduate of McGill Institute and later entered the U.S. Army where he reached the rank of Sergeant and served his country from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to his civilian job with Mobile Gas Company. He served as the Purchasing Manager and retired in 1987 after 46 years of service. He served as National Director of Affairs for the National Association of Purchase Managers. He was an active member of a mystic society. He was a recent member of Honor Flight VII South Alabama visiting the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC in May of 2012. Mr. Kelly was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret "Peggy" Eccleston Kelly; parents, Thomas and Alma E. Kelly, Sr.; two brothers, Andrew Z. Kelly and James Kelly; two sisters, Mary Catherine Vella and Alma Theresa Kelly; and a step-son, Richard Webb.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Margaret Carol Kelly and two surviving sisters Mildred Karcher and Dorothy Gilbert of Brookville, Ohio and one brother William P Kelly; his sons, Thomas L. Kelly, III (Kathy), Robert Kelly (Patty), William Kelly (Lura), Michael Kelly (Beverly), and Daniel Kelly; step-children, Glenda McQuillen (Mike), Frank Webb of Pensacola, FL, Debbie Cumming (Roy), and Kathy Jemison (Jim); grandchildren Scott Kelly, Ashley Morris, Chad Kelly (Colleen), Ann Marie Richardson (John), Bobby Kelly, Amanda Kelly, Elizabeth Kelly, Danielle Kelly, Rachel Kelly, Matthew Kelly, Meggy Sabatini (Brad), Hannah Kelly, Daniel Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Michael McQuillen (Amanda), Alysia Deakle (Joe), Brooke Jemison, Peyton Jemison; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Reverend Johnny S. Savoie as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, with the Rosary at 5:30 P.M. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Sarto Center at St. Pius X Catholic Church immediately following the graveside service at Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
