Vaughan Murray Williams

Vaughan Murray Williams went to join our Lord on April 14th surrounded by loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dick and Grace Murray of Mobile, and Mae Pearl and Jay Harton of Memphis. She leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Mary Wallace and Richard Murray III, and her godmother and loving aunt, Carol Harton Shannon. She leaves her husband, James Walker Williams and three devoted children Jim Williams of Atlanta, GA, Carol Williams Galloway (Trey), and Robert Williams, and grandson Marlowe Galloway. Vaughan is also survived by four loving siblings, Laurie Murray Hannon (Dubby), Richard Murray IV (Norita), Dr. Jay Harton Murray (Lisa), and Grace Murray Wann (Chip); and eleven nieces and nephews. Vaughan was born in Memphis, TN in 1958 and graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal School and the University of Alabama where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She was a member of several Mystic Societies and was most active in all of her children’s school activities. Vaughan’s happiest moments were spent being with her family and doing for others is what gave her the most joy.
