Vernon Douglas Cole

He was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church and retired from National Gypsum after 21 years of service and Degussa Corporation after 21 years of service. He was a wonderful father who loved his family and many friends. He also loved fishing, country music and dancing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lynn.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sarajane; his son, Mike (Nancy) Cole; stepson, Chris Cupit; daughter, Sharon (Jimmy) Arthur; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
