Virginia McDonald Doyle

She was born in Mobile on November 12, 1915 to James William and Julia Brown McDonald. She grew up on Dauphin Street in downtown Mobile and, in 1931, graduated from the Convent of Mercy. After graduation, she worked at McGowin-Lyons Hardware and Supply Co. until she left to raise a family. She returned to work with the Corps of Engineers in the lands acquisitions department from where she retired in 1980. Virginia was predeceased by her husband James Henry Doyle; her brother, Edward Brown McDonald and his wife Margaret; her sister, Emily Ann (Suzie) McDonald Lowe and her husband James Freeman Lowe.

She is survived by her three sons, James Henry Doyle, Jr. and his wife Patricia; Peter Joseph Doyle; and Edward Francis Doyle and his wife Leslie; three grandsons, Christopher Edward Doyle, Patrick Anthony Doyle and Archie David Moore, Jr.; two granddaughters, Kayla Cook Doyle and Stacy Marie Lyman; one sister-in-law, Catherine Doyle Simon.

Visitation will be at St. Dominic Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at Catholic Cemetery.
