Tsgt. Walter Allen Ayer Sr., USAF Ret.

TSgt. Walter Allen Ayer, Sr., USAF Ret. – a 75 year-old resident of Wilmer passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013. He retired from the United State Air Force as a Tech. Sergeant after more than 20 years of service. Mr. Ayer was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Barbara D. Ayer; parents, Edwin and Mildred Ayer; brothers, Edwin Ayer, Jr. and Charles Russell Ayer; and sister, Mary “Sissy” Adams. He is survived by his children, Mary Davis (Wesley), Lisa Turner, Kelly Fennell (Michael), Walter Allen Ayer, Jr. (Laura), and Pamela Ayer; brothers, Kenneth Ayer and Robert Ayer; sister, Mildred Beck; six grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 12 noon.
