

Willard Marshall “Bill” Watts, Jr. – a 74 year-old native and resident of Mobile passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He retired from Gulf States Engineering after a long career as a design engineer. A proud veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church and was a licensed pilot. Mr. Watts, a longtime mason, was a member of the Azalea Lodge No. 898 F&AM, the Scottish Rite, and the Abba Temple Shrine. He was also very involved in scouting, having reestablished Pack 105 at Kate Shepard Elementary School and served as its Unit Commissioner. He was preceded in death by his father, Willard M. Watts, Sr., mother, Grace Marie Bullock; step-father, Floyd Cooper; and daughter, Wendelyn Watts. Mr. Watts is survived by his wife, Wanda C. Watts; daughters, Debbie G. Elmore and Angela M. Looney; grandson (raised as his son), Joshua S. Morganthall (Zahra Hamade); sisters, Diane (Frank) Parker and Kay O’Neal; brother, Tom (Kay) Watts; sister-in-law, Sharon Watts; grandchildren, Jody (Lori) Elmore and Alison Elmore; great-grandchildren, Tyler Elmore, Karlie Elmore, and Ian Marshall Morganthall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 27, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
