William Warren Mills

Mr. William Warren Mills – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Allen Memorial Home. Mr. Mills was a graduate of Gulf Coast Military Academy in Biloxi, MS, he attended Spring Hill College and served in the United States Army. An astute businessman, Mr. Mills was the founder and president of Mills Distributors, the family business, with branches in Mobile, Pensacola, Panama City and Birmingham. Bill loved to fly and spent many hours piloting his Cessna across the southeast. He spent many summers on Mobile Bay and loved the bay. Most of all he was a devoted yet playful husband, father, grandfather and he most enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Jackie H. Mills; children, William W. “Bo” (Connie) Mills, Jr., Timothy H. (Marva) Mills, Stephen A. (Eve) Mills, John C. (Soc) Mills, John M. “Jack” (Cathy) Mills, Mary Mills Pollman, and Celie Mills (Desi) Tobias; his grandchildren, Whitney Mills, Timothy Mills, Garner Mills, John Mills, William Mills, Blake Pollman, Bender Pollman, Billy Mills, Mary Hayden Mills, Elizabeth Mills, Sheldon Mills, Harris Mills, Andrew Mills, Desi Tobias, Michael Tobias, Jack Tobias, and Macy Tobias; his brothers and sisters, Evelyn Mills Barkstedt, Gloria Mills Turner, Adele Mills Herman, Stephen L. (Sandy) Mills, and Dr. Patrick L. (Jerry) Mills; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 P.M. on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from St. Pius X Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 P.M. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Pius X School Endowment Fund or the McGill-Toolen Foundation. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery.
