Willie Ray Sewell

Willie Ray Sewell – devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, a 68 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Mr. Sewell retired from ThyssenKrupp Elevator after many years of service as an elevator technician. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his friends and his church, Lighthouse Baptist. The Word of God was supreme in his life, and, above all, he leaves a strong Christian heritage. Mr. Sewell was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ann Sewell; son, Matthew Brent Sewell; and sister, Maxine Denham. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Voncille Sewell; children, Jackie Wilkinson (Jimmy), Charlesa Rebarchak (Jim), Benjamin P. Sewell (Michelle), and Daniel “Bear” Sewell; granddaughters, Olivia Grace Wilkinson and Isabelle Claire Wilkinson; siblings, Douglas Sewell (Jeanie), Glenn Wayne Sewell, Glenda Wilczewski, and Judy Neilson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Lighthouse Baptist Church on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 6905 Nan Gray Davis Rd., Theodore, AL 36582.
