

John W. Lamb of Ridgecrest passed away April 20, 2017, at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. He was 83.
Graveside services will be held Friday April 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Desert Memorial Park.
Mr. Lamb was born Sept. 21, 1933, to George and Francis Lamb of Oregon. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1950-54. He moved to China Lake in the 1950s to accept a job as a physicist. He retired from the government in 1980 but continued to work for several years as a contractor.
Mr. Lamb was a devoted husband and family man. He was extremely proud of the work he performed in his career and the contributions he made. He loved flying and sailing, earning his personal pilot's license and flying for several years privately. He had a passion for learning and for sharing his knowledge. Above all he loved spending time with his family and helping them whenever he could. He will be remembered by his family for his generosity, easy laugh, and gentle spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Janavee Lamb of Ridgecrest; children, Monique Vanderpool, Michelle Lemke and Jhonnette Lamb of Ridgecrest; granddaughter, Shawn Haughaboo of Ridgecrest; brother, Lloyd Lamb; five additional grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Helen, Myrtle and Shirley, and his children Jane Michele Blanche and John Randolph Lamb.
Interment will be at Desert Memorial Park.
