Barbara Kristine Piaty

Born in Bridgeport, CT she was the daughter of Constance and the late Thaddeus Piaty. She graduated from Sacred Heart University and was employed primarily as an administrative assistant with several companies throughout her career.

Barb was a member of St. Lawrence Parish in Shelton. She enjoyed singing and was a member of several choirs over the years, most recently the Shelton Songsters. She also enjoyed reading, particularly biographies, taking an interest in people from all different walks of life. In general, she had a genuine curiosity and interest in the lives of others, making her a valuable source of family history.

Barb was a kind and gentle soul with unlimited generosity towards her family and friends. She will be remembered for her enormous heart and generous spirit she shared with all.

She is survived by her mother and father, Constance and John Leniart of Shelton, brother Anthony Piaty of Shelton, sister Kristine Lucker (Brian) of Monroe, brother Joseph Leniart (Samran) of Framingham, Massachusetts, sister Susan Leniart (Matt) of Shelton and niece and goddaughter Abigail Lucker of Monroe.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Sunday, December 3, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son, Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Monday, December 4, at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton, CT. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Avenue, Stratford, CT.
