Hudson Beatrice V. Hudson, age 68, of Monroe, beloved wife of 48 years to Clifford H. Hudson Jr., passed away peacefully on September 3 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport. Born on December 2, 1941 in New Haven to the late Leroy and Alice Graham, she was a resident of Monroe for the past 41 years. After graduating Shelton High School and marrying, she relished her roles as loving wife, mother, friend and homemaker. She was a very strong woman who valued family, honesty, compassion, and service to others as essentials in life. Using these values she was the rock that shaped and guided her family, the ears that were always willing to listen, the hands that never stood idly by, and the heart whose love touched so many. She was Mom, Mommie B., Grandma, Nana, Pal, and Mrs. H. Always knowing who she was and being a former foster child in her early years, she and her husband devoted and cherished the last 20 years providing a loving and nurturing home to 42 foster children. She was also a former member of the Stepney Vol. Fire Depts. Ladies Auxillary. She was an animal lover who rescued numerous animals, had many pets, and donated to the ASPCA and Friends of Animals. In addition to her loving husband she is survived by 3 sons; Clifford H. Hudson III and Debbie of Ansonia, Eric Hudson and his wife Kimberly of Shelton, Brian Hudson and his wife Donna of Michigan, and daughter Deborah Hudson and Michael of Ellington; 8 grandchildren, Richard, Katrina, Kevin, Jacob, and Christopher of Ansonia; Brian Jr. and Amaretta of Michigan, and Nickole of Ellington; brothers Charles, Robert, Leroy, Freddie; sisters Alice, Patricia, Anita and Virginia; dear friend/sister Marge and her husband Art Johnson of Derby, and many other friends. She was predeceased by stepmother Dorothy Graham. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, September 7, from 4-8 P.M. at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, in Monroe. A service for all will be held there at 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 282 Washington Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
