Catherine L. Sheehan

Monroe- SHEEHAN, Catherine (Fekete), “Kaye”, died suddenly June 1, 2010, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. She was born the daughter of Michael and Susan Fekete in Nu Mine, PA, on April 25, 1929, her home until her family moved to Fairfield, CT. On June 25, 1955, she married the love of her life, Gerard “Art” Sheehan and they built their home in Monroe where they have lived since 1958. She is survived by her loving husband Art and children Tom Sheehan and his wife Lynn of Bethel and daughter Deborah Reilly and her husband Timothy of Newtown. She was always surrounded by these and her grandchildren, Emily Gregori and her husband Jonathan of Tyler, TX, Meghan Sheehan of Southbury as well as Sean and Brendan Reilly of Newtown. They were all the pride of her life, as was her great-grand daughter, Haley Gregori. Kaye truly loved life and the pleasure of being part of so large a family. She was one of ten children and is also survived by her brother Andrew Fekete and his wife Marie of Monroe, a sister Betty Pagliaro of Florida, brother, George Fekete of Orange and brother Fred Fekete of Montana. Kaye and Art’s circle of close friends were always a source of support and comfort for many years and gave her life a special zest and excitement. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 7th at 10 AM in St. Jude Roman Catholic Church 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road Monroe. Friends may call Sunday, June 6th from 4 to 8 PM at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher and Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. The family is very grateful to all her medical support givers and especially to the triage staff that attended her upon admittance to St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
