

She played the piano, was a Girl Scout and played softball and liked archery. She attended Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport.
She went to Danbury Teacher’s College (now WestConn), and while at college she met the love of her life for 51 years, Joseph. After graduation, she began teaching at Edison School in Trumbull, Connecticut. She ended her teaching career at Gingerbread Nursery School where she enjoyed teaching the little ones.
Her hobbies included, reading mysteries, knitting, needle point and other crafts, and game shows. She enjoyed watching the Olympics, ice skating and all kinds of auto races. She cooked a different dinner recipe every night for her family. She was also a member of the Quilting Club at the Monroe Senior Center. Over the years she completed many for - family members and friends.
She enjoyed traveling and would plan where the family’s summer vacation would be. On one of the final vacations, her husband remarked that he “had seen the inside of more homes of other people than his own.” The family made many trips to Spain to visit Joseph’s parents, half-sister and many other family members.
While growing up, she owned a variety of pets from a crow and Belgian Hooded rats (Pixie and Dixie), and many dogs. As she got older she and the family owned many cats.
She is survived by her daughters Michele and Linda (Robert) and niece and nephew, Lori (Michael) and her family and nephew, Cory (Michelle). In addition to great nieces and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, infant brother George, sister, Ruth Davis and parents, George and Alma.
The family would like to give thanks to all those who helped care for her over the last several months.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation Thursday, April 30, 2026, 3:00 - 7:00 pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:00 am. Interment to immediately follow at Monroe Center Cemetery, Old Tannery Road, Monroe, CT.
