Born in New Haven, CT on June 1st, 1923, daughter of the late Frank Carlesimo and Eliza (Williams) Carlesimo. Sister to the late Katherine Kay and Lillian Magnuson. Wife to the late Michael R. Callan. Frances and Michael spent their earlier life traveling the world. They played on a couple’s bowling league, Frances also participated in a lady’s bowling league. She loved her summers when her grandchildren came to stay with her; teaching them to swim and taking them on adventures.
She found herself involved with the St. Mary’s Church Carnival in Simsbury, heading up Granny’s Attic which benefitted the church. Frances was a Captain in the Stratford Eagles Squadron Civil Air Patrol and was their Finance Officer for many years. She had many dogs which she loved dearly. One of her last dogs; Barry her St. Bernard was very special to her, and she let everyone know. Frances was up for anything, from Casino trips, to wineries, Las Vegas to UConn women’s basketball games.
She enjoyed life to its fullest and was delighted to say she was everyone’s Grandmother. Her proudest accomplishment was becoming a Great Grandmother to Nicholas; yearly trips to the White Mountains and watching him play football from his early days in Pop Warner to his college days at the University of New Haven.
