Gloria A. DellaCorte

DellaCorte, Gloria A. of Monroe, died March 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 1, 1931 in Jersey City, NJ to Charles and Blanche (Fitzhenry) Witzmann, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph DellaCorte, as well as her brother, Carl Witzmann. Gloria is survived by her children Robert, Richard and Ken, her daughters-in-law Karen and Melissa, caregiver and “son” David Thayer, her five grandchildren Michael, Kristen, Arianna, Aidan and Addison DellaCorte, her dearest sister-in-law and friend Ceil Crawford, dearest friend from high school Corinne Reardon, sister-in-law Louise Porcelli and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was the most wonderful mother, sister and friend. She will be missed more than any words could describe. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Carolton Hospital of Fairfield and Spring Meadows of Trumbull, Dr. Benjamin Weisman, Dr. Neal Fischbach and the staffs of The Connecticut Hospice and Griswold Special Care for the exemplary care given to Gloria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen's Church, Trumbull, Ct. Interment will followed at Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown, CT. Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, Route 111, Monroe, CT, 203 445 8500.
