Hav was born in Long Island City, New York and was the son of the late Anne Marion Dzubiak and the late Havilan Muncy Tweedy. He is survived by two daughters, Lori F. Knouse and her husband Donald of Monroe and Wendy A. Black and her wife Margaret T. Mendence of Shelton, three grandchildren Taylor C. Knouse-Selk and her husband John Alexander of Stratford, Nicholas A. Knouse and his wife Heather of Toms River, NJ, and Samantha R. Black of Newtown, a brother-in-law and three nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Suzanne E. Liquerman.
Mr. Tweedy lived in Monroe for 54 years, since 1971. A graduate of Castleton State College (now Vermont State University) he was the President of Havilan Landscaping Co. Inc. He was an active member of many organizations including the Monroe Jaycees, Monroe Emergency Medical Service, past Chairman for the Board of Governors for the Friends of the Monroe Emergency Medical Service, Bridgeport Philatelic Club, Chairman of the Parish Advisory Council, Building & Grounds Ministry, Special Minister of the Eucharist for St. Jude Roman Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and previously on the Board of Directors for the Monroe Historical Society.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Jude Church, Monroe, CT. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "FRIENDS OF MONROE EMS," St. Jude Church or Blessed Sacrament Church of Bridgeport.
