

James (Jim) Condon, of Monroe CT, passed away peacefully March 23, 2015, surrounded by his family at home. Jim was born in Tipperary, Ireland on October 14, 1938, to the late Daniel and Margaret (Quinlan) Condon. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Noreen (Greany) Condon. After graduating from University College Dublin, Ireland, he came to New York in 1965. He completed post-graduate studies at Purdue University. He was a Loss Prevention Engineer and worked for Factory Mutual Engineering for almost 30 years. After retiring, he and Noreen formed their own company and did private consulting work for 14 years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Monroe, and the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield. He was also a member of Saint Jude Parish and a Pioneer of the Sacred Heart. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid tennis player. In addition to his beloved wife Noreen, he is survived by his two daughters Kathleen (Jim) Messina of NJ and Patricia (Michael) Bertie of CT; his son Daniel (Elizabeth) Condon of CA; his brother Noel Condon, his two sisters Doreen McInerney and Sister Anna Condon FMM, all in Ireland; his brothers-in-law Rev. Brendan Greany, C.Ss.R. and John Greany and his sister-in-law Kathleen Reilly, all of NY; his six adoring grandchildren; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law Edward Greany.
Friends may greet the family on Thursday, March 26 from 4pm-8 pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke, Monroe, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 27 at 10:30am at St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke, Monroe, CT. Interment will follow immediately in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, Attn: Finance Department, 3305 Wallace Avenue, Bronx, NY 10467.
