Janet Lee DeCarlo

Janet DeCarlo, 70, of Ossining, NY, passed away on March 30th, 2026 in Newtown.

Janet was born in Ossining NY, to Motestino and Elsie (Zeliph) Santucci on September 7th, 1955. She graduated from Pace University and worked as an accountant for Aremco for 17 years.

Janet is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony DeCarlo. Janet is also preceded in death by her siblings, Brenda Rustine, Steve Santucci, and Motestino Santucci.

Janet is survived by her siblings, Romalo Santucci with his wife Gail, and Al Santucci with his wife Jill; Nola Wheeler with her husband Frank, and Elsie Santucci; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and her best companion, her dearest dog Basil.

In their 20 years of marriage Janet and Tony shared a love of travel and cherished time spent with friends and family. They were known as gracious hosts, famous for their Labor Day and New Year’s gatherings filled with volleyball, yard games, skating, ziplining, fishing, sledding, and laughter.

Janet loved gardening and took great joy in creating a landscape that felt magical and welcoming to wildlife. She will be deeply missed, particularly during the holidays, when her vibrant decorations, festive yard displays, and thoughtful gift-giving brought joy to all.

A visitation will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son, Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 7th, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

Services will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, April 8th, with Rev. Stephen Volpe officiating at Newtown United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements are by Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son, Community Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to
