

Josephine Carosielli, age 84, died peacefully in her home on October 16, 2014. She was born in Stamford on May 25, 1930 to Amato and Lily Borea. She was raised in Bridgeport and was a resident of Trumbull for 46 years. She was predeceased in 1996 by the love of her life and high school sweetheart her husband, Anthony Carosielli, Sr. Throughout her life, her family was her world and she could always be heard sharing a family story and bragging about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest and most proud role was being a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters Joanne and husband Joseph Pellecchia of Trumbull; Joyce and husband Anthony Augustinsky of Trumbull; and Carol and husband Paul Bartolomei of Stratford; and son, Anthony Carosielli of Manchester. She was a retired employee of the General Signal Corporation. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Raphael Church and was an active member in their Ladies Altar Guild and a dedicated lector. Josephine enjoyed meeting with her Pinnacle and Book Club groups. She treasured her casino trips with her special nephew, Anthony. She was an avid UConn Huskies and Yankees fan.Josephine is also survived by nine grandchildren, Andrea D’Aiuto and her husband, Michael; Joseph Pellecchia and his wife, Melanie; Erica Augustinsky; Jonathan Pellecchia; Jennifer Dillon and her husband Russell; Anthony Carosielli; Paul Bartolomei; Victoria Woodard and her husband, Thomas; and Matthew Bartolomei. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Michael, Arianna, David, Jake, Norah Rose, and Jackson Cooper. Josephine had a huge extended family and had countless love for her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Carmine Faugno and Frank Borea and her sister Carmella Smeraglino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 20th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, Frank Street in Bridgeport. Burial will follow at St Michael’s Cemetery in Stratford. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, October 19th from 4-8 p.m. at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, in Monroe.
