Joy DuBail age 72 wife of Arnold H. DuBail of Monroe passed peacefully on July 13th surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 27, 1941 to the late Ray A. MacDonald and Thelma Curtis MacDonald. Joy grew up in Fairfield and was a resident of Monroe for the last 45 years. She worked in the Monroe school system as an educational aide in the 1970s and 80s and spent 17 years working for the Trumbull board of Education in pupil services until her retirement. Joy was the kindest and loving of souls who’s greatest love was for God and family. She was known for being a selfless giving woman who always had time for those in need. She was an integral and active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on the Green in Monroe. She enthusiastically led St. Peter’s youth group for 13 years, was a part of the Episcopal Church Women’s group (ECW), church choir and any church event or activity that came along. Her passion and infectious smile made anything she was involved in a success. She was also very energetically involved in Relay for Life for the past 9 years and was a member of Beacon Hill women’s bible study. She took much happiness and pride in being an essential part of her grandchildren’s lives and also loved to travel, whether it was across town or across the world. Joy leaves behind a legacy of giving that touched all she came in contact with. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Arnold, her 3 children Mark DuBail of Newtown, Chris DuBail of Greenville SC, Dawn Laughlin of Monroe and her husband John, grandchildren Lauren, Douglas and Nathaniel Bond, and Emily Laughlin of Monroe, sisters Janet Spinning and Judy Hamilton, brother Ray MacDonald and Wife Michelle, sister in law Christine Bennett and husband Thomas, brother in law Ronald DuBail and wife Martha as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
