Marilyn Abrams Katz, age 77, died peacefully September 21, 2010 at St Vincent’s Hospital after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Max and Helen Abrams, she had a long and successful career at Bloomingdales in Manhattan. After retiring in 2004 as an Operating Vice President she moved to Stamford, CT where she enjoyed being “Grammy” and watching countless hours of sports on television, which she loved to passionately discuss. Survivors include her son Philip Katz and his wife Leilani of Blue Bell, Pa, daughter Cathy Fisher, her husband Steven Fisher and grandchildren Hilary and Richard Fisher, her brother Fred Abrams of New York and lovely nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her loving son Steven Katz. Funeral service will be graveside at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Glendale, NY at 1pm September 22. Friends are invited to join the family at the home of Cathy and Steven Fisher following the service. Those interested are asked to make a donation to the charity of their choice.
