Mildred "Millie" L. DeLucia Lecardo

LECARDO Mildred “Millie” Linda Lecardo, age 63, of Monroe, beloved wife of John A. Lecardo, Sr., entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 5th 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Millie showed unbelievable courage and strength during her battle with cancer over the past year. Born Carmela Linda DeLucia on March 22, 1947 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline DeLucia. She attended Bridgeport and Trumbull schools and was a graduate of St. John’s Commercial High School. Millie was retired after working many years as a bookkeeper in the real estate industry. Millie and John were married on April 28, 1973 and lived in Stratford for 5 years before moving to Monroe. She lived in Monroe for the past 32 years and shared many special times with her family and friends. Millie had a tremendous love for her soul mate and husband John Lecardo, Sr., her two daughters, Tracey and Pamela, and her son John. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Parish of Trumbull and enjoyed attending mass daily. Millie was active in the church, where she and her husband have spent the past twenty years as Eucharistic Ministers. Millie loved life. The ultimate caregiver, she could often be seen and heard singing and dancing around the house, telling everyone how much she loved them. One of Millie’s favorite pastimes was cooking and baking delicious food for family and friends. Millie also loved traveling and taking family vacations. Her favorite trips were those to Disney World in Florida with her family. The greatest joy in Millie’s life was being a grandmother to her grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Rose and her granddog Henry. She adored them all. She was their caregiver, spending many wonderful days singing and playing with them, while cherishing every moment. Millie will be sorely missed by her husband of 37 years, John Lecardo, Sr., her daughters Tracey Rose and her husband, David of Oxford, Pamela DeCesare and her husband, Nick of Shelton, her son John Lecardo, Jr. of Monroe, her sister Susan Baricko and her husband Donald of Trumbull, her brother Thomas DeLucia and his wife Laura of Milford, her sister-in-law Judy Sciuto and her husband Russell of Stratford, her two beloved grandsons, Brandon and Justin, her granddog Henry; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Along with her parents, Millie was predeceased by her brother John DeLucia, her parents-in-law, Carmin and Rose Lecardo, and her sister-in-law Patricia DeLucia. Friends may call from Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull.
