

Daughter of the late Lena (Comarota) Garamella and the late Antonio Garamella, Rita is survived by her loving children, Robin Henchcliffe & her husband Warren of Southbury, Kim Macey of Newtown, and son James Damianos also of Southbury; her grandson Ray Bevis, Jr. & her precious great grand-daughter Mason Bevis, both of Wolcott. She is also survived by her beloved brother Jo-John Garamella of Bridgeport, and several nieces & nephews, including Dominic Garamella of Florida. Rita was predeceased by her brothers, V. James Garamella, Anthony Garmella, Salvatore, Michael, & Jack Garamella; her sisters Anne Oppedisano, Lea Garamella, Mae Burlant, Frances Sirella, & Mae Alaimo.
She was born in Bridgeport & lived in Monroe before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. where she lived for 20 years. In 2009, she moved back to CT. to be closer to her family. Rita enjoyed cooking, gardening & writing poetry, where her love for her family flowed through her pen.
She will be greatly missed. “Ciao.”
Friends& family are invited to gather on Sunday, June 8, 2014, from 4 to 8pm, at the Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Trnpke. Monroe, CT, 06468. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, June 9 at 11am, at St. Jude Parish, 707 Monroe Trnpke. in Monroe. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown.
