Robert Joseph Pequita

Robert “Bobby” Joseph Pequita, 66, of Windsor Locks and Seminole, FL, husband of Antoinette M. (Fortunato) Pequita, peacefully passed away Wednesday morning, May 6th, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. Born in Hartford on May 27, 1948 to the late Antone and Caroline Lombardi Pequita, he was a lifelong resident of Windsor Locks. He played short-stop for the Windsor Locks Little League, but was never called up to fulfill his life-long dream of being a Boston Red Sox. He attended Windsor Locks High School and then was a member of Connecticut Air National Guard. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed his annual trip to New Bedford to visit and reminisce with family members at the Portuguese Feast. At the time of his retirement, he was a courier for DHL. While in Florida, he loved the beach life and being with family and friends. He also was an agent for his cousin, Jim Pequita, “The Amazing Zucchini”, who performs magic and was truly a Godsend as Bobby was going through his cancer treatments. Bobby touched so many lives, sharing his time to talk with friends and help them see difficult situations in a different light. He could cure the saddest situation with an infectious smile and laughter. In addition to his loving wife Antoinette of 46 years, he is survived by two sons; Stephen Pequita (Lisa) of Windsor Locks and Daniel Pequita (Allyson) of Enfield. He had four grandchildren: James, Justin, Ailey, Sawyer, and a future arrival of the newest Pequita. Also his Godchild, Lisa Pequita Aguiar of Westfield, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Jackie Pequita. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday May 12th at 11:30 am at St. Mary Cemetery Spring Street Windsor Locks.
