

Shirley was born in Stamford, Ct. to Germaine and Herman Beaudoin on April 5, 1926. She attended Assumption Academy, Nicolet, Quebec, Canada, and graduated 1943. She married Nicholas Bank Demet in 1951, in Stamford Ct. Shirley worked for Cummings & Lockwood in Bridgeport, Ct. and Washington, D.C. for nearly 30 years. Shirley was a dedicated Hospice volunteer in Arlington Va. and regularly supported EWTN, Covenant House, PBS and Connecticut Foodshare. Shirley was a devout Catholic and attended St. Ann Church while living in Connecticut. After retiring she attended Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord in Ft. Myers, Fl. When she was unable to attend in person, she listened to mass on television daily, which was the most important part of her day.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas B Demet Sr. and her son Nicholas B Demet Jr.
Shirley is survived by her children Arline (William) Swift, Mary Ann (David) Moffitt, Marjorie Demet and David (Heather) Demet, her sister Michelle, eight grandchildren any many great grandchildren.
A Catholic mass will be held at 10am, May 28, 2026, at St. Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave, Milford. Burial will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at Riverview Bistro, 946 Ferry Blvd, Stratford, Ct. following burial service.
