Tim was one of my absolute favorite people in the world. I had considered future time with him to be one of my true life comforts. Feels like I'll never not be thinking, "can't wait to show this to Timmy."
I always admired how he trucked on through with a smile on his face, infectious excitement and just an incredible knack for giving everything he had to the world around him. He jumped forward, uninhibited and with love. 
But to be sure, you did not want to be on the wrong end of one of his complaint letters! I picture a few of them now framed, hung on customer service walls across the country as a cautionary tale. What a character. 
I remember a few years back, I was talking and laughing with Tim at one of Shifty's parties. Some young guy we didn't know came over and joined us. After a while he asked how long we'd been friends and I'll never forget his reaction: "You guys are brothers? Man, I wish my brother and I were like you." That memory has always made me smile. 
Most of all I'll miss his reactions to things and his humor. You could always feel a, "no way!" coming on. That I'll never be able to help spur him on, to another mind-blowing Les Paul Goldtop lead is a sadness that will hang on me forever. Man, my brother could play life, heart and soul for all it's worth. Hope to see you again in some way, shape or form, my brother.

I have known Tim for over 40 years. He was not only my friend, but part of my family. He was a special person with a love of life , music, friends and family. I will never forget the person he was or the good times we had together. God bless you Tim.

Tim was a Shaman.  He lived effortlessly between the everyday world and vast spiritual worlds of love, joy and music.  Tim opened these spirit worlds for all of us by simply being himself. Tim's exuberance, creativity, warmth, boundless curiosity and passion for life made him an extraordinary person who will be terribly missed. As long as we have the capacity for music, love and happiness Timmy will always be with us doing exactly what a Shaman does; holding open the doorway between the mundane and the divine.

RIP Tom--looks like you had a joyous life.  Thank you Schaff family for sharing so many photos and the videos.  My condolences to you.  Another classmate gone, but never forgotten.

It was always fun when the "Rawhide Wrangler" would be comin' through town, Happy Trails, see You on the flip side...

To the Schaff Family,
May it comfort you to know that Tim has touched so many lives in his short life.  God has added another talented musician to his band of Angels.  He's jammin' with Jimi, Jerry & Stevie Ray.  I remember Tim from Masuk High School.  So full of energy and a great lover of life.  After I married and moved to North Carolina I can remember seeing Tim on my many visits home for the holidays.  My brother, Paul would always have a party and Tim would be the first to arrive and the last to leave.  Tim never met a stranger that didn't become a friend before they parted ways. In the days and years to follow may the many memories we all have of Tim forever live in our hearts.

 I remember Timmy getting a new guitar, plugging in and wailing away in the great room of Garry and Robin's home. Although I didn't know Timmy well, I could see his love of music and a sparkle in his eye. We know he will be missed by many.

I'd always hope that Tim would be at his brother Chris's events over the years, he was a highlight of the gathering. He was a friend that I wish I was able to see more often. An amazingly talented musician who deserved to be famous. He was an inspiration to those that love music. I can't believe he's gone. In my book he's included on the list of the major talents that left us long before their time. I will miss him greatly. My condolences to Tim's family and his many other friends.

Timmy was full of humor and engaged in life; such a great contribution to those who knew him. He was a gifted musician and a friend to all. He will be missed.

It is so sad to hear of the passing of Tim. He was a good family friend whom I have known since I was a kid.  From boating every weekend, the yearly parties at my parents, playing his guitar and tambourines, and singing his songs. He was always happy and having fun. You will truly be missed!

Tim has been my dear friend for over 35 years. Concerts, camping, festivals, parties, holidays or just hanging out, there was never a dull moment with Tim. His laughter, love and friendship will be truly missed.

My heart felt sorrow for the loss of your son and brother.  I  remember that bright smile and that robust laughter he had like he had no care in the world. He once said if I ever pass I would like a lot of laughter and a huge party.  That is what we should do .  So Tim play your banjo or strum guitar and let the music play on . We will miss you . I can't say I knew him well, just meeting him at this past Halloween get together at Chris's house, but sometimes you meet someone, and right off the bat you just know they're  special..... He was one of those..... I'm glad I got to experience all the friendship, brotherly love, music, and laughter that was going on there.... He was well loved.... My heart goes out to you. I will be praying for all of you that God keeps your faith strong and comforts you all at this difficult time.

It is a sad day for myself and many others at Walmart to no longer be able to see him.  Anytime I needed help Tim would always be the first one to respond.  I enjoyed listening to his stories about his road trips while listening to his "oldies"
music.  Very few people possess the wit and personality that Tim had.  He will always be remembered to many as a kind and considerate human being.  I feel very priviliged to have known and worked with him.  Although I have only  known

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Tim in Derby. He was always darting around doing something so it seems impossible to believe that now he is not. His kindness and happy smile will be missed and remembered by many people, take comfort in that and God bless.

He was one of a kind.  Very friendly and he made people laugh.  When I first started working with him I made cookies for that Christmas.  He asked me the next year to make him a blue sugar cookie gingerbread man.  he used it in a show he posted in youtube.  I believe it was Mr Cookie.  His smile will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all in this most difficult of times. I met Tim 13 yrs ago when I joined the Wal-Mart Family. He was a person who was there to ask questions and lend a hand sometimes not always happy to do it but we made do. He was a great person and he will be missed greatly.

I would like to give my sincere condolences to Tims family ,I was so saddened by the news  of Tims untimely death. Tim was a wonderful man to work with ,always willing to help you. Tim was liked by many of us and He will be truly missed.

 Tim, you will be profoundly missed. Your infectious smile, your endearing spontaneity and talented whimsical riffs that repeatedly took us to new levels of consciousness  will forever be engrained in our hearts and in our memories. We can see you and "Jimi" creating your own "Experience" before the choirs of heaven --- that's pretty cool.  Play it loud my friend, we still wish to be entertained!!

I am so so sorry .I met Tim at work when Wal-Mart opened in Derby.We share the same exact birthdays :) and spent many years buying each other gifts,and when I transferred,calling each other on our birthdays.Not to mention,gladly "torturing"him on a daily basis about his perfection on his department and oh,the stories he shared with Becky and I about his youth,his music and that tambourine.I still use everyday the wallet he gave me for our birthday.I ,unfortunately  have theatre tickets the day of the memorial and I don't think I'll be out in time.I will miss my friend.Greatly...
