Gloria J. Schirman

Gloria passed away peacefully in her sleep March 11, 2013 at age 88. She was born Novemeber 10, 1924 in Sultan. Gloria lived in Startup and Sultan for 86 years of her life. In her early years in Startup, she attened the Startup Baptist Church which her great grandfather founded. She lived in the family home until 1973 when she went to live downtown Sultan and was active in the Sultan Community United Methodist Church. Gloria was member of the "High Nooners" - a bible study group which met weekly in Sultan. She volunteered for 21 years at the Food Bank in Sultan. In 1991 she moved to Cherry Hill Mobil Estate Park in Sultan. In 2011 she moved to an Adult Home in Monroe. In 2012 she moved to The Cottages at Mill creek.

She is survived by three sisters Jean Marie (Dale) Zentner, Brea, CA, Virginia Mickey (Roy) Jensen, Bremerton, and Beverly Miller, Gig Harbor; sister-in-law Beverley Schirman, Monroe; ten nieces and nephews and 12 grand nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held Sat. March 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Purdy & Kerr Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St. Monroe, WA.
