Jeanette Marie Owen Dickinson was born January 21, 1930 in Monroe, Washington and passed peacefully November 16, 2020 with her great niece, Tammy Deery, at her side. Jeanette was the fourth of five girls born to Donald and Sadie (Elwanger) Owen. Jeanette grew up on a dairy farm in Duvall, along the Snoqualmie River. She would say she was her dad's "boy" as she helped him with all the milking chores. Jeanette loved the horses and riding them. In winter, when the river flooded, they had to row between the house and the barn to manage the cows. As Jeanette grew up she married Neil Peterson and moved to Petersburg, Alaska. They lived in a logging camp and Jeanette took the job of cooking and doing all the wash for the loggers. She moved back to Washington after the passing of her father, ending her marriage to Neil. Jeanette met, and in 1961 married, who she said was her soul mate, William "Bill" Dickinson. After her return to Washington, Jeanette worked in a bakery (where she met Bill), she was a waitress at Petosa's Restaurant , drove school bus for the Monroe School District (I found sweet notes and pictures from kids on her bus over the years) and she and Bill ran a logging truck and later did long haul trucking together as part of the Dickinson Bros. Trucking. They loved being on the road together. Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, William Dickinson, her father Donald Owen, mother Sadie Elwanger Owen, her sisters Lois Gregory, Clara Renk, and Donelda Kelly. Jeanette is survived by her ninety-nine year old sister, Evelyn Brandsma, thirteen nieces and nephews, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren, all who loved her very much. Jeanette suffered from dementia for the past 9 years and we ask that in lieu of flowers and cards that you make a donation to a dementia charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the caregivers in her life the past few years. You made it possible for her to remain in her home, which was very important to her. Jeanette will be interred at the IOOF Cemetery with a family graveside service.
