LeRoy Marvin Jensen

LeRoy Marvin Jensen, born May 29, 1945 in Ruthton, MN to Jens and Gladys Jensen, departed this life on April 4, 2016 in Everett, WA. He was 70. LeRoy married his first wife Gloria Dahl on June 4, 1966 and they moved to Washington in 1967 from Pipestone, MN. Known by many as “My Boy LeRoy” and the driver of car #56 at Evergreen Speedway, he enjoyed stock car racing - including doing figure eights. He was also a very talented and knowledgeable auto mechanic and enjoyed working on Fords, watching NASCAR racing and playing Pepper Partners and Pinochle. LeRoy is survived by his loving wife Iris L. Jensen, who he married on May 19, 1991, daughter Dawn Marie White (husband Matt), son Niel Jeffrey Jensen, sisters Doris Larson, Carol Styf, Marlys Slocum, Violet Dominack, and Joyce Swenson, and granddaughter Alicia Bowery. Also, 3 stepsons that called him dad, 8 step grandkids & 8 great grandkids that called him Grampa. He was preceded in death by his parents Jens and Gladys Jensen, and brothers Gordon Jensen and George Jensen. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 1-5pm, at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, WA 98272, 360-794-7049. A celebration of LeRoy’s life will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2pm at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 36817 – 143rd Pl. SE, Startup, WA 98293.
