

May 11, 1933-February 12, 2015 "Gone Hunting" Richard (Dick) Barr lost a short and courageous battle with cancer on February 12, 2015. He was a proud dairy farmer who retired in 1997 and will be remembered for his generous spirit. Dick is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Rita. He also leaves behind his children, Karen Peterson, Carol O'Connor, Gail (Mark) Dinwiddie, David (Cindy) Barr, Brian Barr, and Shirley (Mike) Miller. In addition he leaves his grandchildren, Sean, Megan, Andy, Tyler, Jeff, Emma, Carmen, Dalton and Wyatt; as well as great-grandchildren, Isabella, Jaxon, Claire and Layla. As well, he is survived by his brothers, Jim, Tom and Al Barr; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Duncan and Jean Barr; his son, Gary Barr; and son-in-law, Jake O'Connor. Family, hunting, and serving his community were all important to him. He served on the Soil Conservation District, DHIA, NW Dairy and Farm Equipment Show and Noxious Weed Boards, was the Snohomish County Dairy Family of the year in 1975, and was a longtime member of Tualco Grange. He thoroughly enjoyed his annual hunting trips to Montana, eagle watching, hiking and the Seahawks. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, February 21, at St. Mary of The Valley Catholic Church in Monroe. Friends and family are invited to a reception at Tualco Grange Hall immediately following. Donations may be made to the
