Surrounded by loving family, Susan passed away at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. Born in California and raised in Buena Park, CA, Susan moved to the Seattle area in 1967 with her parents where she lived for her entire life. Richard, her first son, was born in April 1972. She then married the love of her life Steven Pies on 5/25/78. They have two sons together, Daniel (June 1979) and Joshua (December 1980). Together they raised their family in Index. They both loved the country . Steve passed away much too soon in 1999 and Susan grieved his loss daily.
Susan was a tremendous wife, mother, sister, daughter, woman. She was kind and cared for everyone. Her family was the most important part of her life. She loved nature, and had a passion for animals. Susan loved enjoying the sun, music, road trips, the hummingbirds and always had a sympathetic ear when needed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was gentle, thoughtful, and the best hug giver. Susan also was an award winning creative artist, designing and producing untold numbers of beautiful crocheted afghan blankets over the years.
Preceded in death by her spouse, Steven, her parents, Marvin and Lillian Anderson, her grandparents, Daniel and Velma Dinkie, and brother Steven. Survived by her sons Richard, Daniel and Joshua, sisters Penelope Harrington and Beverly (Doug) Pearl, and several grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Susan will be missed dearly and will be in our hearts forever. We imagine that Susan and Steve are reunited at last.
