Terry Lee Perrone was born June 27, 1951 in Austin, TX to Joe Nat and Vera Jim Perrone. He returned to his Heavenly Father on October 3, 2022. Terry was a member of the first graduating class of Crockett High School in Austin, TX, and he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Texas State University in San Marcos.
Terry and his wife Annette owned a beauty supply distribution business in Houston for 20 years. Upon selling the business, they moved back to Austin to be closer to family. In Austin, Terry initially worked for a child support collection firm. He then joined the University of Texas Police Department, working for 10 years and retiring from the University’s Harry Ransom Center (HRC), where he welcomed staff and guests at the security desk, and assisted the building manager. The HRC was a perfect venue for Terry’s business skills, security savvy and sense of humor; he sincerely enjoyed his time there.
Some of the things Terry most loved were:
• His family, Texas, the USA, and John Wayne movies
• Serving as a Scout Master (Boy Scouts of America) in Houston for many years, and on the Scout Troop Committee in Austin
• Star Trek and other science fiction! Terry was a body guard for the original Star Trek cast during the Ultimate Fantasy Convention in Houston in 1982
• Reading about U.S. History and the things that make America great
• And most of all, Terry was the happiest when in the company of his family, especially his four sons, daughters-in-law, and nine grandchildren. He and Annette relocated to Monroe, WA in August of this year to live across the street from the grandchildren.
Terry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Annette, sons T. Nathan, Timothy, Michael and wife Kari, and Matthew and wife Katherine; brother Dick Perrone and wife Jeneva; sister-in-law Judy Perrone; plus nine amazing grandchildren: Benjamin, Elsie, Amelie, Sam, Adeline, Gideon, Annabel, Joy and Austin; and eight delightful nieces and nephews: Joe Ray (wife Karen), Lisa, James (wife Tracy), Jana (husband Randy Deluna), Denise (husband Larry Jantzen), Chuck (wife Karen); Rich, and Rob (wife Ann). Terry was preceded in death by his brother Joe W. Perrone, sister-In-Law Mary, and brother Charles H. Perrone.
Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
