Willie Mena Albery, a long-time resident of Monroe and the Skykomish valley passed away on March 2, 2015 in Monroe, WA. She was 89. Willie was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed painting, dancing, working in her flower garden, her family, friends, and traveling. Willie and her husband Jim owned and operated M and J Market in Startup and US Motel in Gold Bar. Willie is survived by her son Gary Lee Albery and his wife Sandy, daughter Merry Lee Sunderland and her husband Lonnie, brother Art Spaulding, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren and her dog, Baby, her constant companion for the last 5 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Albery, and great grandson, Aaron Sunderland . A funeral service celebrating Willie’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1pm at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, 360-794-7049. The family requests donations to local charities in her name in lieu of flowers.
