Janice Leslie Edwards, 54, of Monrovia, passed away on July 20, 2013, with her family by her side. Janice was born in Massachusetts, and eventually ended up in Pico Rivera, CA where she graduated from El Rancho H.S. She met her husband Richard Earl Edwards in Dec. 1978 & they were wed at a simple ceremony on Feb. 14, 1985. Janice was an extremely strong woman who met each of life's challenges with bravery, fortitude & love. She had a wonderful sense of humor, making an impression & winning her friends all over the country whether during her travels or via the Internet. She was very proud of her family, not only raising her two sons, Christopher Joseph & Michael Anthony Edwards; but also her baby sister Bellnette Adriana Aguilar. Her love of her family also extended to her two step-daughters, Kimberley Diane Waymire & Kristina Marie Broumas. She is also survived by her two sisters, Deborah-Anne Caramico & Kimberly Anne Chavez; two brothers, David Michael & Kenneth Andrew Garrabrant, all of who she loved deeply. Janice especially loved her job working for El Monte City Schools as an Instructional Support Specialist for developmentally challenged children. At work she was able to effect many positive changes in several young lives, constantly trying to better herself so she could be better for the children. Janice loved her grandchildren, Harlow Rae & Addison Jane Edwards with a fierce passion! She had a zest for life; her many interests included the beach, dancing, music of all kinds, Karaoke, and most recently, Bingo! Janice will be remembered for her quick beautiful smile & the infectious laughter that she sprinkled freely wherever she went! A Memorial will be held in the Chapel at Live Oak Memorial Park & Mortuary at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. Those friends & relatives unable to attend in person are invited to share their memories of Janice on the website.
