Happy birthday grandma! It’s been 10 tough months without you. I really hope your happy in heaven ✝️. I miss you so very much, I wish you were still here I’ve really been needing one of your hugs. I miss you more then you can ever imagine. I miss our talks when you and I would sit it in the backyard and talk, and we would just have deep conversations. I MISS YOU SO MUCH!

It's been 5 months since you took your last breath here on earth and I still miss you dearly. I feel theres still alot left to do, words to share, memories to make, and jokes to tell. Our family is not the same since you’ve been gone.

A letter to my mom 

MOM, YOURE SIMPLY THE BEST!! As a little girl I watched you. I watched the women you where to my dad and the responsable mother you where to my brothers and I. The way you independently ran our home and watched over  all of us. You made raising three kids with a big age difference look E-Z. You kept up with all of us though out all stages of our life’s regardless of our age gaps (You adapted). You had very little education and couldn’t read or write but the Big ol heart you carried inside you made up for the illiteracy you lived with. 

When I started giving you problems during my adolescent age, you didn’t complain. Sure, You gave me consejos and prayed a lot but you never gave up on me nor left my side. As I grew up you where their standing tall, always in my corner. 

When I found out I was pregnant at the age of 20, I came home to talk to you and share the news. You weren’t sadden, like always you gave me advise and was “accepting”
of me. That’s the kind of women you where “ACCEPTING” of everyone. 

Then when I had my kids, your grandchildren, you cared for them as your own, Like you would say, “yo los crie.” That you did. THANK YOU for that, and for the love you poured into them. YOURE THE BEST GRANDMA EVER!! I only wish baby Santos “Santitos” would have gotten a chance to receive your love and calor.

.... Now In my 30’s our life together was different. You where my life partner, my mother, my best friend. I could talk to you about everything Y no te asustabas. You knew exactly what to say and how to say it. Yes, we would fight and no me bajabas de “huerca jodida.” Lol... I can still hear you now:) but it was all love and experiences. 

Mom, You went everywhere with me. I know you had a good time. We Partied on the beach of Rosarito, you gambled in Laughlin AZ, Las Vegas NV, and San Diego. We went to Georgia visited the “World of Coke.” We watched the Dodgers together. Just about a month ago we went “off-roading.” I’m going to miss simply going to the parks with you for one of the kids opening/closing ceremony’s or just to catch a game. You’re favorite past time was Bowling, and playing bingo. 

I’m also going to miss us singing together, Especially you singing your favorite song, “Volver Volver by Vicente Fernández.” Us, drinking tequila shots together, and still you can out drink me. You’re bad ass mom!! You where quick to check me when I would serve your tequila in the shot glass “half full” like you always said, “that’s not a shot, pour it right, to the top” LOL.. that’s right Mom!! YOURE ONE OF A KIND, They don’t make em’ like they used too. Last but not least I’m going to miss you in the back yard, talking, and listening to all our stories with a cigarette in your hand. 

I Love you and please know to me you where “Wonder Women.” An unstoppable, strong,  courageous, happy, caring, guerrera, and loving Tejana. I Love you honey, mi poquito de oro. Rest In Peace MoM xxoxo

Stared at this for awhile because there’s just so much to share. Mary is such a great person who has a beautiful soul.  Mary was the one who always smiled and would always ask if me and my family was ok. She always made us feel welcomed and has always been there for me. Mary has the greatest sense of humor. I picture her smiling and this is how I will remember her. Mary will always be forever in my heart and forever remembered. 

When I think of Mary I always remember her smile, her laughter and her loving and giving heart. My fondest memories is with her family which she always made me feel part of.  Mary will forever be in my heart.
