

Mary Jane Peterson was born October 11, 1952, to the late Jubencio Romero and
Julia Anna Romero in Los Angeles, California. She was the sixth child of seven
siblings.
Mary Jane and Michael Peterson were married for 46 years, from that union they
had two children, Latasha Peterson, and Dimitri Peterson.
In Junior High Mary Jane worked at a metal polish shop, her dad owned. They
made juice machines. She operated the degreaser equipment.
She was the first to graduate of her family, from Arroyo High School, which she
was very proud.
She loved to dance and hit the clubs with her sister Theresa, and their girlfriends.
They used to get dolled up in the rest room and in the mirror Mary Jane would
say. (Ladies Start Your Engine!) Meaning let’s get the party started!!!
At the age of 25 she met her future husband Michael and purchased a home
where they lived together for 46 years in the same home.
Mary Jane worked for Arcadia School District, El Monte School District and El
Monte Unified School District for Arroyo High School for 27 years. She was known
and loved by teachers, co-workers and many students.
Everyone trusted her guidance and protection over their kids in the community.
Her house was always open to everyone. Everyone loved her.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents Julia Anna Romero and Jubencio
Romero, her siblings, Joann Burrescia, Barbara Burrescia, Richard Romero, Theresa
Romero, and David Romero.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband Michael Peterson, her children Latasha
Peterson and Dimitri Peterson. Grandchildren Derek Peterson, Devon Peterson,
and Joshua Jurado. Her brother John Anthony Burrescia, and a host of nieces,
nephews and extended family and close friends.
