Ruben Macias Ravago

Ruben passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

Ruben joined the United States Airforce in 1946. He is a World War II Veteran where he earned two medals. Ruben married the love of his life in September of 1951, they were married for 71 years. They grew up in Hicks and moved to Baldwin Park where they had 4 children. Ruben, Rita, Ricky and Roy.

Ruben was a Realtor for over 40 years. He loved to exercise and tell you about it. Going to church, bible studies and being part of the church made him happy. He took so much pride in his yard and passed that passion on to his son Roy and daughter Rita. He loved having his family over to visit and to all occasions. He enjoyed breakfast after church with Grandma. He loved to go to the movies and lunch with Tia Rita. He was fascinated by his coin collection. And he loved to tell you stories about his life. And we can't leave out his obsession with following firetrucks when they were on their way to a call.

Our family is heartbroken to lose such a great Man, but we are comforted with knowing that he is in Heaven. He has left us with so much to be thankful for. He has taught us to be God fearing, humble, giving, loving children of God.

Ruben's leaves his Legacy with his family. His Legacy is kindness, forgiveness, giving wholeheartedly, encouragement and always being there to listen. He was the kindest, warmest, loving man you ever met. He loved God, his family, and his church family very deeply. He will be missed terribly. But we will all be forever grateful to him and Grandma for giving us the love, tools and guidance we needed. Thank You Dad, Grandpa, Brother, cousin, friend for everything you have done for us. You can rest knowing that we will carry your legacy on with pride. We love you.

A visitation for Ruben will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Valley Community Church,service location, 3039 Santa Anita Ave, El Monte, CA 91733. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Valley Community Church, 3039 Santa Anita Ave, El Monte, CA 91733. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Turner & Stevens-Live Oak Mortuary, 200 E Duarte Road, Monrovia, CA 91016.
