Corinne Boyd (née Plociennik)

Corinne was a native of Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of Eugene Plociennik and Katherine Sheridan. She began her lifelong devotion to caring for others as a nurse at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Life soon after brought her north of the border where she left city life behind, and settled in the beautiful village of Arundel, Quebec. There she fully embraced life on the farm and raised her family in the splendour of the Laurentian mountains.

Corinne was dedicated to her community. Her boldness of spirit and gentle compassion made her a much-needed advocate for those in need. She would seek out and care for others in their home, bringing warmth and kindness to those who needed it. She was also a supporter of organizations such as St. Michael’s Mission and Samaritan’s Purse to name a couple. She was the camp nurse for many years with Crosstalk Ministries, and organized the annual summer Vacation Bible School through Grace Anglican Church in Arundel, as well as managed the Anglican Diocese of Montreal’s summer retreat cottage for clergy at Fawn Lake, QC.

But above all else, she was deeply devoted to her husband of 58 years, Bevin Boyd, her heart and soul, who together built a life founded on a deep faith and quiet devotion to the works of the Lord our Saviour. She was immensely proud of her children, Sean and Ann (Michael), and her two cherubs, grandchildren Katie and Emma. She is survived by her sister Anne Marshall (Robert), and her beloved nephews and nieces. Corinne was also predeceased by her sister Barbara Agostinelli (Anthony).

A Service of Celebration will be held at Grace Anglican Church, Arundel, QC on Saturday, April 12th at 2pm. Visitation in the church from 1-2 pm, with a reception to follow.
