Lloyd George Larose

Mr. Larose is survived by wife Joan Williams of Weir QC, and his daughter Jody Larose (Edward Marcon) of Oakville ON, his son Hal Larose (Barb Larose) and grandson Justin of North Bay ON, brother Keith Larose (Gaetane) of Weir QC, and sister Elinor Waddell of Richmond BC. He will be fondly remembered by his nephews, Matthew Waddell and Steven Larose, and by Joan Williams’ daughters Lynn Byrd (Mike Sadler) and Wendy Byrd (Neil Gargul) and her grandchildren William, Ashley, Amber and Hannah. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 39 years, Joan Larose (Coates).

Born in Weir, QC, on August 18, 1933, was the eldest son of Lloyd Larose Sr. and Elsie Larose (Hardy) of Joliette, QC. Mr. Larose graduated from Montreal High School before joining the RCMP in 1954.

Supt. Larose enjoyed a distinguished 35-year federal policing career with the RCMP serving Quebec and Ontario through 32 postings and 11 moves (‘C’, ‘A’, ‘HQ’ Divisions).

Mr. Larose enjoyed his retirement years living in his beloved Laurentians, QC. He was active in the community volunteering with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 192, Arundel and was a long-standing member of the Masonic Lodge, most recently with Laurentian Lodge # 81, Arundel. He was also a member of the RCMP Veterans Association-Ottawa Division.

He had many hobbies that involved the outdoor wilderness, a place where he was most content. He enjoyed time spent at the Larose family cottage on Lac Charest and driving his boat on picturesque Beavan Lake. Over the years he enjoyed many cruises in Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe and was fond of watching the news and discussing world events, politics and sports. He will be sadly missed by so many and remembered for his kindness, wisdom and a noticeable twinkle in his eye.

A visitation will take place at Les Salons Funeraires Guay, 974 Rue Vanchesteing, St. Jovite (Tremblant) on Friday, February 7, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm followed by a funeral service and reception on Saturday, February 8, 2pm, Grace Anglican Church, 7 Chemin Church, Arundel, QC.
